We want YOU!!!
We are looking for active jammers to keep GCJ rolling like in the old days. We have a bunch of new and old jams that are just waiting for the right creative and productive jammer. Is that you? Then don't hesitate contacting an administrator ... we are waiting for you!

We're back, baby!!!

We're back, baby!!!
It's been a long and difficult delivery, but I'm proud to say that we have given birth to the greatest version of GCJ ever! Every little detail of the new layout has been scrutinized, and the usability has skyrocket to new dimensions, to ensure your experience on GCJ to be as pleasant and exciting as possible. But it's not just the wrapper that's new - so is the content!

This is not just the launch of a new layout, it's also the total reboot of the site we started four and a half years ago. We decided to turn the bucket upside down, and investigate what kind of fun and unexpected initiatives we could take to really stir things up - and we decided to take all the old jams, the ones you and I have been contributing to since the beginning, and put them away, and we are starting out with four brand new ones. We did call it the GCJ ARMAGEDDON, after all! And while you can never be sure what direction a comicjam will take (that's the whole charm of it), I'm sure we have a little something for everyone here; a horror story, a bleak dystopian story, an adventurous funny-animal story and a tale from the sea. These four will be the cornerstone of GCJ in the future, but that's not all - of course!

Another new feature that we are pushing to the forefront is the MyJams. Now you can start your very own comicjam, right here on GCJ, and you don't even have to win a contest to do so! There are two ways of getting a MyJam; you earn it, or you buy it. The beautiful thing about a MyJam, is that it's totally yours to do with as you like. You make the rules, you make the deadlines, you decide who you want to contribute to it and so on ... it's your little personal domain. We are really hoping you will welcome the MyJams into your hearts, like you have done our regular comicjams.

New jams will pop out every now and then, but we'll be making big announcements for when that happens - as a little teaser, you can expect the return of a little something we like to call: The ChaosJam! As mentioned, we have put all the old comicjams away, but just because they aren't up there with the youngsters, don't mean they have been retired. We made a special "hall-of-fame" for them, nobly called "GCJ Classic", and you can STILL jam on those! We wouldn't take those away from you! So Surface-girl, Ozzy and the Fusion-guys are still in for many, many great adventures!

I guess all there is left now, is to encourage you to go read the new jams, tell all your friends about it and for the love of God; SIGN UP NOW, so we can get this beautiful, huge and great ship in the waters!!! Let's rock, jammers!

GCJ's 4th BIRTHDAY ... SO WHAT?

Posted on Saturday, 2007-December-01
Today, december 1st, it's GCJ 4th birthday ... but so what? The site is looking more static than ever. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! - This is your chance to give lifesupport to GCJ ... head over to the FORUM, and tell me (us) what needs to be done, so we wont end up pulling the plug.
This is SERIOUS ... if we don't get the boat turned around, perhaps there won't BE a GCJ next year!

Global Warming vs. Global Comic Jam

Posted on Sunday, 2007-August-12
Is Global Warming the cause of the lack of updates on GCJ? It's the questions scientists have been working on for a long time ... and in the meanwhile, we are just chilling on GCJ. The summer periode is always slow here - we all love comics, and jamming ... but when it's summertime, we can all be excused for wanting to get a little sun on our pale bodies! ;)
Hopefully we'll soon be back with a more regular update schedule, so don't be a stranger.
ATTENTION : If you are an artist signed up for a jam, please make 100% SURE that you have given us your e-mail address in your profile! If you havn't, we can't contact you !!! (Ahem... will Bretton K. please report to the principals office!!!) ;-)

Create-A-Jam Contest Extension!

Posted on Wednesday, 2007-August-01
Like a pardon from the Governor just before an execution the Create-A-Jam contest has been granted an extension. It turns out a few of our members were asking for a bit more time and being the push over that I am, I caved. The new deadline is Sunday, August 13th. Voting will start promptly Monday morning and will last for 7 days. On the bright side, this does give us the opportunity to get more than just 9 jams in for this year's contest. So to all you that have already submitted, thank you very much. And to everyone else that has not submitted yet, get on the ball. This is your chance to get that great comic idea down on paper for the whole world to see.

Mr. Cube WILL go on vacation !!!

Posted on Friday, 2007-May-25
Voting has ended, and the jam "Mr. Cube goes on vacation" won by 7 votes, over Nismet with 5 votes, and Frozen Hope with a single vote. On behalf of the GCJ-team, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote on our submissions. It has been fun, and I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing how this thing turns out.

Old friends, Cold Times & Lots Of Water; Vote for the new Team Jam!

Posted on Tuesday, 2007-May-15
Everything is rocking steady on GCJ and we finally have the contest for the first Team-Jam on GCJ open! We got some great voyage coming ahead - just decide which one will be the one to be done by the GCJ Team on a weekly rotation. In case you forgot, the GCJ-team is those guys who sat down and redesigned GCJ earlier this year; Keith, Joshua, Jost, Jason, Scott and Kim.
Check out the great submissions here, and then go over to the forums to cast your vote. Enjoy the show.
